PRINCES PARK BOWLING ASSOCIATION
Princes Park Bowling Association
Princes Park is probably one of the oldest greens in Eastbourne, as there has been bowling there from the 1930’s when the Redoubt men started bowling on the greens, soon to be joined by the Royal Parade Ladies in 1947. In 2000 these two clubs amalgamated to form one club which is known as Royal Parade and Redoubt Bowling Club.
Since then Princes Park and Fishermen’s bowls clubs have joined them. There are four greens hosting 24 rinks for members and public to play on. In the 1980’s the council decided not to run the greens and an Association was then formed between the 3 clubs to run the bowling greens, hence Princes Park Bowls Association.
The individual clubs are responsible for booking all matches that are played there, the fees for bowls matches with visiting teams are £3.50 per person or otherwise for public play £3.50 per hour, £4.50 per session. Princes Park is a lovely area with a boating lake, 18 hole miniature golf and the sea is just across the road.
