VICTORIA DRIVE BOWLING ASSOCIATION
Victoria Drive Bowling Association - There has been a flat green bowling club in Victoria Drive, adjacent to The Drive Public House since 1931 when the Victoria Drive Bowling Club was formed, making it our 75th Anniversary in year 2006.
In 1932 the ladies formed Eastbourne Ladies Bowling Club and in 2006 both clubs become a Joint Club Partnership with the new name of Victoria Drive and Eastbourne Ladies Bowling Club.
Our 100 - strong membership continue to enjoy both ladies and men's matches together with mixed matches. We are a progressive club and are always looking for new ideas to promote the image of our sport within today's society, for example in 2005 a relaxed dress code for casual play was introduced to encourage members to bring along their friends and relatives for a game of bowls.
We host various Sussex County events including a match against the County under 25s each year. We also host various rounds of the Eastbourne Open Bowls Tournament including the semi-finals and finals in some years. Known for the quality of our greens, a warm welcome is guaranteed.
